Job Description


  • Supervision of nursing staff and responsible for oversight of care of individuals on service.
  • Hold weekly meetings to review high level nursing needs and ensure that nurses have resources to carry out plan of care.
  • Use advanced nursing knowledge to help nursing staff assess overall health of each individual and develop appropriate nursing plan of care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and serve as an RN providing care for a case load of individuals.
  • Mentor all nursing staff on both day to day activities as well as professional development in conjunction with Regional Director of Nursing.
  • Oversees and deliver care for all individual on service including, annual assessments, lab follow-up, and physician recommendations to ensure the delivery of quality services.
  • Conducts monthly nurse oversight and ensure accurate documentation is completed and readily accessible.
  • Oversee and administer medication, medical treatment plans, and other health services, to ensure they are provided in accordance with physician orders and RN licensing standards.
  • Monthly oversight of clinical care cases for selected RNs in which oversight is being completed. 
  • Serve as a clinical leader for nursing and non-clinical staff who have identified a health concern and provide on-call services to support the need.
  • Communicates to individual support coordinators, conservators, and family members in regard to changes in consumer medical status.
  • Follows day to day medical activities for all individuals on case load including follow up related to medical appointments and annual assessments.
  • Serve as an advocate for all individuals health care to ensure that they are receiving care needed and appropriate resources are being provided.




  • Physically able to perform the essential functions of the job as described in the essential duties and responsibilities sections including; walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, sitting, reaching overhead and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to safely lift, transport, and transfer consumers, which may include but not be limited to lifting and transferring in and out of a bathtub, vehicle, bed or wheelchair, as appropriate and needed to assist with the consumer’s assisted daily living skills. 


  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current compact nursing licensure
  • Five years of clinical practice preferred and a minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
  • One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities/mental retardation, or in a related field, preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, if applicable.
  • Must be 25 years of age to transport consumers unless otherwise authorized.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (read, write and understand) in English.
  • Must have good record keeping skills.
  • Criminal history must meet or exceed company standards at the time of hire and be maintained at this level throughout employment.
