Job Description


  • Operational supervision, management and oversight of the Therapy department and management of therapy services.
  • Provides clinical leadership, development and advancement of operational clinical strategies to promote Company objectives and strategies.
  • Develop strategies to increase and expand the clinical therapy program and promote and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring and retaining all therapy personnel employees; facilitating a team atmosphere among staff.
  • Responsible for conducting performance appraisals of all therapy personnel.
  • Promotes positive employee relations by facilitating an atmosphere of open communication and problem solving.
  • Monitors and assists with personnel compliance standards including required credentials, corrective actions, and improvement plans when needed.
  • Investigates, follows up and assists in the resolution of staff, service and consumer-related issues as requested.
  • Ensures the delivery of services are rendered in compliance with regulatory and program standards including but not limited to DIDD, CMS and MCOs.
  • Reviews the quality and appropriateness of the delivery of therapy services and individual therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using pre-determined criteria.
  • Oversee the scheduling of clients and therapists, ensuring adequate coverage for therapy units.
  • Actively leads and participates in Quality Assurance initiatives and meetings, as required.
  • Participate in chart audits, in-home employee performance reviews, and other quality assurance activities as requested.
  • Participate in utilization review activities as requested.
  • Attend and lead Team Meetings in an organized manner (agenda, etc.) to disperse therapy related information concerning upcoming ISP’s or Circles of Support and ensure preparedness and representation at such meeting, as appropriate.
  • Monitor documentation such as plans of care to ensure that that services do not lapse or cause a gap in services; skilled services are provided; and staff instructions are completed timely and reviewed annually as required.
  • Demonstrates superior customer service through professionalism, courtesy, consistent and timely follow-up, and positive communication.
  • Identify and report and resolve service delivery and client care issues and communicating concerns to Supervisors as needed.
  • Provides and facilitates training and in-service education, and professional development as appropriate.
  • Ensures the provision of treatment in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures and standards according to company guidelines.
  • Consistently demonstrates sound judgment in the evaluation, planning implementation and follow up of therapy programs.
  • Reports to work on time and coordinates schedule to achieve maximum performance standards according to company guidelines.
  • Adheres to and maintains compliance with all company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Adheres to and maintains privacy and confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII) for both clients and employees in accordance with applicable laws and regulations including the HIPAA and HITECH as applicable.
  • Ensures a safe environment and utilizes tools and equipment in a safe manner complying with all infection control, universal precautions, and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
  • Reports all hazardous conditions including incidents, injuries and equipment to Supervisor/appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements concerning clinical and therapy service; recommending appropriate actions to management and ensures organization’s compliance.
