Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather appropriate documentation from multiple parties in a highly organized manner.
  • Sort, distribute, and process mail daily
  • Prepare Representative Payee applications
  • Prepare SSA/SSI appeals and waivers
  • Work with SSA to resolve benefit issues
  • Prepare for and attend SSA meetings as necessary
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve benefit and resource issues
  • Update Back Office Web (BOW) to communicate consumer information
  • Establish new accounts within RFMS for new consumers
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Must have basic excel skills.
  • Ability to be calm in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written direction.
  • Must be able to adjust in changing priorities and the various details of the job.
  • Must maintain a punctual and good attendance record.
  • Knowledge of SSA/SSI/VA/Railroad benefits preferred.
  • Knowledge of Applied Income preferred.
  • Knowledge of Special Needs Trusts and Qualified Income Trusts preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically able to perform the essential functions of the job as described in the essential duties and responsibilities sections including; walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, sitting, reaching overhead and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred) or three years of experience working in a related field.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, if applicable.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (read, write and understand) in English.
  • Must have good recordkeeping skills.
  • Criminal history must meet or exceed company standards at the time of hire and be maintained at this level throughout employment.
  • Must be willing and able to submit to random drug testing throughout employment with good results.
